Few leaves waterstained, some foxing. The last two leaves reinforced in the fold, partly backed at the margin. Overall good condition. Titel gestempelt, teilw. unterlegt, wasserrandig. Wenige Bl. wasserrandig, teils stockfleckig. Die letzten beiden Blatt im Falz verstärkt, teilw. am Rand hinterlegt. Insgesamt guter Erhaltungszustand. Early printing as an extremely rare title-edition for the French market from the plates of the edition printed by Nägeli in Zurich in 1802, given to the Parisian publisher Nadermann for distribution in France. The remaining edition was acquired by the publisher Richault, who provided the work with a new title page and brought it back into circulation. Only 3 copies of the 1802 Nägeli edition in bookauctionrecords/JAP and none of the present Richault edition! This beautifully engraved edition contains 15 fugues and 3 canons, as well as 2 fugues and 2 harpsichords, notated in the piano part in modern clefs.
