VERY NICE AND CLEAN COPY of the very rare first edition of the full score of Don Giovanni and at the same time the first ever printed score of a Mozart opera. During Mozart's lifetime, not a single score of his operas had been printed, and of the piano reductions only that of the "Entführung aus dem Serail" (cf. Kinsky in Philobiblon 8, 1935, p. 370). Early printing still without the text appendix added to the later copies. - Type printed, set with the movable note divisions invented by Breitkopf. - The engraved Italian pre-title contains the charming scene with the statue of the commander from which Don Juan tears himself away, engraved by Friedr.
